yes you can, it works the same way.

or trade over a 4thgen with a 5th gen move???

Basically you can trade 1-4th gen pokemon from black and white to HG/SS or plat but they cannot have new moves and you can trade from HG,SS to Black and white. so basically no new pokes or moves in the other games.

Actually you use the pokeshifter...

It's this Mini-game where you send 6 pokes over at a time and have to launch pokeballs at them. And you can do it as many time as you want. If you want more detail i'll just edit my post
