NEW POKEMON NAMES!!!

Finally they released english names for the starters!



=Snivy


=Tepig


=Oshawott


And they named the region Unava!

about time those Japanese names confused me way to much, i was like WTF!!!It went from chimchar to pokebu? That was when I thought it was it's actual english name

Tepid =/= Tepig

See what pokemon did there??

To be honest from game to game the english names are being worse and worse

you should replace what you wrote with this
Grass-type Tsutarja: Snivy (Snake + Ivy)
Fire-type Pokabu: Tepig (Tepid + Pig)
Water-type Mijumaru: Oshawott (Ocean + Water + Otter?)
Isshu region: Unova Region (Either letters from "United States 'OV' America," since Isshu is based off our country, or from the Latin words "Unum" + "Nova," which mean "One New.")
Zekrom will be known as the Deep Black Pokemon with the Teravolt ability.
Reshiram will be known as the Vast White Pokemon with the Turboblaze ability.

Oshawott sounds like a name for a japanese cruise ship or something you could shout at someone when your pissed off just to confuse them.

Snivy. Snake + Ivy. I geuss this one is alright.

I'd like to believe Snivy could also be Snide + Ivy...cause that is just funny to me.

Also Tepig = Tepid(lukewarm) + Pig. So The pig isn't hot like most fire pokemon...it's just room temperature.

Oshawott isnt that bad IMO, rest is though.

Unova.. sounds terrible. Isshu sounds better, but still sucks. Tisshu would of been better.. hm.

I don't think they're running out of ideas honestly because with Pokemon you could do anything! What defines what a Pokemon is? How can you say something doesn't look or sound like a Pokemon? You know what makes a Pokemon a Pokemon? If Ken Sugimori designs it, Like every other Pokemon in every other game. You say you hate the names, well they will grow on you. I'm sure many people who hated fourth gen when it came out like it now. It's doomed to happen no matter what, we will like it. Not trying to be an asshole by the way just trying to prove a point.

They might grow on me, but honestly I remember 4th gen coming out and the english names and I had no problem with any of them. I never said they didn't sound like pokemon. I just said that it sounded like something else. I know about tepid and all that but it still just kinda bores me. At least Oshawott is fun to say.

Everyone will grown on but the major issue is people hating the new pokemon I can see there point in some ways like the way they made a garbage bag pokemon or a snow flake pokemon I honestly don't understand what happened to nintendo or why they hired a group of random people to make them but we grow on to them sooner or later.

dude this is creative i love this 5h gen is just the best i love the new names! Unove sounds just aswome and Snivy sounds so cool and pokemon like. Tepig was a very funny word play and Oshawott just kinda fits to that pokemon 5th gens the best and nothing exept mabey 1gen beats it

I really like 5th gen, although Unova could use some work. Such as the crappy variety of pokemon in the begining. And some spots could use a bit more variety and puzzles that were actually creative. (I'm talking about the dungeons and 7th gym)

5th gen is Ridiculous they should had not continued The Franchise.....
