A Let's Player's Computer. Empty
PostSubject: A Let's Player's Computer.   A Let's Player's Computer. EmptyTue Nov 16, 2010 1:17 am

So I'm picking out a computer for Christmas and i need help from you tech-people. If I want HD rendering and video editing, lots of storage space, ( I assume a big hard drive is all i need ), and the ability to run multiple programs at once, like, photoshop, a video editor, etc, etc.

What exactly do I need? I hear this talk about video RAM and RAM, and Processors, but i honestly don't know much about computers, externally at least.

So If i could get your help on this, it'd be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, - MoshJarcus

NOTE: I don't want a MAC.

So sience im one of tech ppl here i can help look for something expensive, bigger price better value.

Main thing that u have to look at is the RAM and Processor and well a big hard drive if u want to do movie editing but i higher recommend buying a external hard drive that u can connect through usb any time u would need an extra space.

If it comes to processor now most common processor is Intel core i3l i5, i7. BUT if u get a computer with intel core 2 duo its also good if ur not planing on playing hard core games on your computer ( i personal would recommend Intel core i5)

Now its time for ram, more RAM = ability to run more programs at once standard is at last 2GB
but i reccommed 4GB

Hard Drive well the biggest so far is 1TB=1 Terra Bit (Quiet big if u ask me) but 350 GB is more then enough.

And now if you want a HD rendering i reccommend buying a good Graphic card on ebay or in a good computer shop coz all of the graphic cards that come in those computer bought in shop are quiet poor graphics which will not allow a HD rendering, the best is AMD radeon HD 5770 but the newest one is Amd Radeon HD 6870 thats all about budget you want to spend.
Little tip if it comes to graphics. When you buy a computer in shop and see some thing like Nvidia GeForce 7200 or 9200 dont buy thoes coz they are crap other computers may come with integrated video like Intel Extreme Graphics u can get one of thoes but upgrade later on to ones i recommended.

Thats basicly all u need to know also operating system does not matters either its Windows XP or Vista or 7 even though Windows 7 is the best

Yep thats all if u want any more info send me a PM and i will help
